Larry W. Kreider, M.D. Dr. Kreider received his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry (Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa) from Beloit College in 1964. He was awarded his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in 1968 and completed his internship at St. Joseph Hospital in Denver, Colorado. His residency was accomplished at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He served 3 years as a U.S. Navy Flight Surgeon, VP 44.
Dr. Kreider was board-certified in ophthalmology in 1977 and has been in practice with Denver Eye Surgeons for 23 years. He has performed over 5,000 cataract surgeries, and began general refractive surgery in 1987 and LASIK in 1996.
Dr. Kreider has two adult sons and enjoys skiing, motorcycle riding, jet skiing, and shooting.
Vicki L. Coulter, M.D. Dr. Coulter received her Bachelor of Science, Cum Laude from the University of Colorado in 1980 and her Doctor of Medicine with honors, from the University of Colorado School of Medicine in 1989. She completed her internship at Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center in Denver and her residency in ophthalmology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. Dr. Coulter began practice with Denver Eye Surgeons in 1993 and teaches as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Colorado.
Professional affiliations include a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and serving on the Education Committee of the Colorado Ophthalmology Society. Dr. Coulter is the past President of the Colorado Ambulatory Surgery Center Association and served as the 1999-2000 Chair for the Department of Ophthalmology at Lutheran Medical Center. Dr. Coulter spent four months in Central and South America with Project Orbis, donating her time and medical skills to a free clinic in a remote area of Nepal.
Dr. Coulter, an avid kayaker and climber, has one adult son.
Jan Stahl, M.D. Dr. Stahl received his Bachelor of Science degree in Physics (Summa Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa) from the University of Albany, New York, in 1980. He fulfilled a research fellowship at the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health for three years prior to beginning medical school at the University of Maryland. Dr. Stahl received his Doctorate of Medicine in 1987 and went on to complete a medical internship at Evanston Hospital. His ophthalmology residency was accomplished at the University of Virginia in 1991 where he served as Chief Resident during his final year. During that time he developed techniques for implanting foldable contact lenses through “small incisions” during cataract surgery.
Todd Maus, M.D. Dr. Maus received his Bachelor of Science with high honors from the University of Notre Dame in 1989, and his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Minnesota Medical School in 1995. His internship and residency were at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Maus achieved a glaucoma fellowship at the University of Utah prior to joining Denver Eye Surgeons in 2000. Dr. Maus has published several articles specific to the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma. He currently works throughout metro Denver and in Summit County with doctors developing glaucoma patient treatment plans.
Dr. Maus is a member of many professional organizations including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Glaucoma Society, the American Medical Association, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.
Dr. Maus and his wife, Julie, have 2 small children. He enjoys many outdoor sports such as downhill and cross country skiing, running, and mountain biking
Rajiv Kumar, M.D. Dr. Kumar is a fellowship-trained ophthalmologist who specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of corneal disorders, corneal transplantation, cataract surgery with intraocular lens placement, and refractive surgery including LASIK, PRK, CK, Intacs, and Verisyse lens placement. He also practices general, comprehensive ophthalmology.
Dr. Kumar completed his bachelor of science in chemistry, doctor of medicine, internship, Ophthalmology residency, and Cornea/Refractive fellowship training at the University of Utah. He excelled during his training at the prestigious Moran Eye Center, considered one of the top residency and fellowship programs in the country. There, he worked side-by-side with world-renowned ophthalmologists and learned their clinical and surgical secrets directly from them. Through clinical study trials, he investigated the advantages of CUSTOM technology, the differences between LASIK lasers, and the technology of modern day cataract surgery. He is the author of multiple ophthalmic articles in medical journals and has presented his findings at several national conferences.
Dr. Kumar believes in practicing evidence-based medicine. He likes to stay up-to-date and current with the latest technology by being active in professional societies, meetings, and literature. His professional associations include the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the Cornea Journal Club of Denver. Because of thorough preoperative screening, personal patient education, and state-of-the-art equipment, his patients have enjoyed excellent visual outcomes.
Dr. Kumar enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter. He loves to golf, play basketball, and ski. He also enjoys watching college and professional football and basketball.
Kathy Milano, O.D. Dr. Milano received her Bachelor of Arts degree (Summa Cum Laude) in 1982 and Master of Arts degree (Magna Cum Laude) in Clinical Psychology in 1985 from the University of Colorado. She completed her Doctor of Optometry from Pacific University, Forest Grove, Portland Oregon in 1995.
Specializing in vision therapy and ocular pathology at the Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center, Portland, OR and Vancouver, WA, Dr. Milano received the A.M. Skeffington Award for excellence in vision therapy, the Butterworth-Heinemann Award for clinical excellence and has been inducted into Beta Sigma Kapp, Phi Theta Kapp and Who’s Who in American Colleges. She is a ten-year member of the American Optometric Association, the AOA Contact Lens Association and is active in The Foundation Fighting Blindness and The National Keratonus Foundation.
Dr. Milano enjoys working with all age groups. Her specialty in contact lenses extends from refractive therapy to medically necessary conditions, bifocal contact lenses and designs for astigmatism.
When not working, Dr. Milano enjoys time spent with husband and two daughters, music, art, tennis, and hiking.
